Starring Sarah Paulson, Kiera Allen, Pat Healy, Sara Sohn, Erik Athavale, Sharon Bajer

Sarah Paulson stars as Diane, a mother who homeschools and cares for her daughter, Chloe (Kiera Allen) who is eagerly awaiting her college entry letter. One day Chloe discovers something which plants a seed of doubt about her mother and as events start to unravel, we find that things aren’t quite what they seem.
On the whole, this is a fun horror/thriller that is as ridiculous as it is creepy. Paulson does a great job of being unhinged while Allen carries the film well as Chloe. At first, things do genuinely seem normal and the way that the plot reveals itself is done intelligently.
Having said that there’s not much that’s new here although that in itself doesn’t detract from the enjoyment. There is a moment as we move in to the final act that reveals everything which seems a little sloppy as the tension had been built up piece by piece over the previous hour, only to have a lot of information revealed due to one conveniently placed box.
But again, there are far less enjoyable ninety minutes to be had out there so add this to your list for your Friday night thriller.
