Starring Samuel L.Jackson, Lisa Kudrow, Hugh Grant, Tracey Ullman, Kumail Nanjiani

What better way to end 2020 than by sitting with your chocolates, your face mask and your new found social anxiety and enjoy a satirical look at the year with Charlie Brooker? His Wipes are hotly anticipated year after year while Black Mirror goes from strength to strength.
The cast is truly star studded here with no expense spared. The jokes come through thick and fast and after around thirty minutes, as is the way with these things, satire fatigue sets in only to get its second wind towards the end. Although this has some good laughs throughout, it doesn't quite hit the highs of Brooker's previous work as the whole thing feels airbrushed and perfect.
That being said, the highlights are generally found when the focus lands on the U.K. You get the sense that this is where the film feels most comfortable as they lay into Boris Johnson, Brexit and everything else that the country has struggled with this year.
Definitely worth adding to the watchlist, if for no other reason than to look back at 2020 with laughter rather than total despair.
