Euphoria: Season 2 ★★★★
Sam Levinson
Starring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Sydney Sweeney

The Hollywood Reporter announced this month that HBO's Euphoria reached audience numbers not seen since Game of Thrones ended in 2019, with the season two finale delivering 6.6 million viewers alone.
We continue to follow the journey of addiction-fighting Rue (Zendaya) and her class mates through a chaotic, dramatic, glamorous, entertaining and some what triggering time in their lives. Other cast members include: Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Hunter Schafer (Jules), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Maude Apatow (Lexi) and many more.
Euphoria has seen huge popularity, especially recently with TikTok and other social media platforms playing a part in helping to promote the series and the aesthetic that comes with it. But is it worth the hype?
A brief summary:
Performance ★★★★★
Casting ★★★★★
Cinematography ★★★★★
Soundtrack ★★★★★
Costume & Styling ★★★★★
Emotional Response ★★★★★
Aesthetic ★★★★★
Episodes 5 & 7 ★★★★★ (5 heartbreaking, 7 a masterpiece)
So despite the above, the thing that turns this into a 4-star review is the plot. Not only is the narrative triggering, upsetting and anxiety driven at times, there are also countless plot holes between the two seasons and even between episodes that remain unsolved.
Euphoria has been renewed for a third season hitting screens in 2024, so hopefully these questions most viewers now have will be answered. But for now, we must remain patient and not overanalyse the plot to the point of neglecting the true art that has been produced here by show runner Sam Levinson.
Euphoria Season 2 available now on NowTV, Sky Entertainment, Hulu & HBO Max
