Ellis & Gareth
Is Paramount+ worth it?
Ellis & Gareth spend a week viewing as much content as possible on the streaming service Paramount+

With so many different streaming platforms readily available, it can be quite overwhelming to decide which you should prioritise. We spent a week viewing content on Paramount+ so that you don't have to, to ultimately come to a conclusion: Is Paramount+ worth the money. With a free trial in place, let the viewing commence.

Gareth - Halo Episode 1
As someone who's never played a minute of the Xbox classic, I was hoping this would offer me something regardless. While it looked pretty good, it all seemed a bit mindless and I'm not sure whether I'll make it to episode 2.
Ellis - Jerry & Marge Go Large
A Paramount+ original, Jerry & Marge Go Large sees a retired couple (Bryan Cranston & Annette Bening) learn a system to consistently win the lottery. It's very easy watching and isn't doing anything special but it's a good starting point for the streamer's original content.

Gareth - Airplane!
Something a bit more familiar this time. The back catalogue that Paramount has is impressive and a lot of the oldies I've never seen. I had seen this before though and it's a classic. Admittedly a rewatch of Airplane! has resulted in fewer laughs but it's still a great comedy.
Ellis - Cher & The Loneliest Elephant
So there's this elephant, and it's been treated badly by a zoo in Pakistan, so an activist calls for help and Cher picks up. She goes to the zoo and with help from many others she relocates the elephant (Kavaan) to a an animal reserve in Cambodia. Sounds mental? It's wholesome!

Gareth - Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber
Super Pumped is pitched as an anthology series, with each one looking at a business person's story to the top. This one is all about Uber! It feels like a mix between The Social Network and The Wolf of Wall Street, which is fine if a bit macho at times. This could be something I make it to episode 2 with...
Ellis - Clive Davis: Most Iconic Performances
Clive Davis is a legend, and here he counts down the most memorable performances from famous music artists. In the first episode: Tina Turner, The Notorious B.I.G, Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen. I love watching live performance, and these are some very very good ones! It's something you'd never search for but I was so glad to stumble across it.

Gareth - Secret Headquarters
This is basically Iron Man for Paramount+. It's aimed at a younger audience and is generally a safe movie. But it equally just feels like I'm watching content, not a story.

We ran out of content...
THE VERDICT
Gareth
The exclusive Paramount+ content is just that, content. Nothing I've seen so far gives me the confidence to keep returning to the exclusive stuff, unlike Apple TV+. If you get this from Sky, go and find all the classic. If not, maybe skip this streamer in general.
Gareth's pick of MUBI - Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber
Ellis
At the moment, this app doesn't have anywhere near as much content as it needs to sustain a subscriber for longer than a month. Unless of course you're a South Park fan. All of the hit animated series is on there for you to binge, as well as those classics that Gareth mentioned, it's just a bit sparse on original content.
Ellis' pick of MUBI - South Park
Paramount+ currently offers a week free trial, after which the streamer costs £6.99...unless of course you get lucky on McDonalds Monopoly!
