Starring Adarsh Gourav, Rajkummar Rao, Priyanka Chopra, Mahesh Manjrekar, Vijay Maurya

Based on the novel by Aravind Adiga, The White Tiger tells the tale of an Indian driver and his struggle to climb the social ladder. It's a dark film and at times hard to take, but this feels like a true reflection of the country's problems, its people and its modern culture.
At first glance, you'd be forgiven for making glaring comparisons to last year's Parasite. However the only real comparison to be made is that The White Tiger is a foreign film actually being pushed into the mainstream. This story, just as Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) says, belongs in India and exploring every corner of it is joyous, even through the darkness.
The lead actor, Adarsh Gourav, deserves a special mention here as he carries everything with a totally believable performance. However the whole ensemble simply add to the visceral atmosphere and all deserve credit for bringing this alive.
Although not one to watch if you're after some light entertainment, this film should definitely be added to your list for a challenging and thought provoking ride.
